PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize vibration and noise by opening-closing of a suction valve while improving responsiveness and durability of the suction valve by always setting a stroke of the suction valve constant in a linear compressor for compressing a working fluid such as a refrigerant in a cylinder while reciprocating a piston in the cylinder by reciprocating driving force of a linear motor. SOLUTION: This linear compressor has the piston 80 reciprocating in the cylinder 70 and forming a suction flow passage 81 inside and the suction valve 84 relatively movably joined to the suction flow passage 81 of the piston 80 and performing the opening-closing action while relatively moving with the piston 80 when reciprocating the piston 80.
