PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a display panel, in which a filler is finely filled in a gap between first and second substrates outside a sealing material. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the display panel which includes: a first substrate; a second substrate placed opposite to the first substrate with a gap held in between; a plurality of display elements arranged between the first and the second substrates; the sealing material 7 which surrounds the plurality of display elements and joins the first and the second substrates to each other; and the filler which is arranged between the substrates on the outside of the sealing material, the filler is made to adhere to a roll 70, the roll with the filler adhered thereto is made to move on the side edge of the display panel by rolling, the filler is filled in the gap 30 between the first and the second substrates outside the sealing material, and the filled filler is hardened.
