<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diatom adhesion material which adsorbs no eutrophication substance and can demonstrate long-term water quality improvement maintaining effect and to provide a water quality improving method using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The diatom adhesion material is composed of a granulated material containing coal ash, a crushed material, a solidified body or a molded body.
