PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an agitating bar by which even a sample having high viscosity can be agitated satisfactorily and to provide an agitation apparatus. SOLUTION: The agitating bar 1, which is rotated for agitating the liquid sample b housed in a vessel 60, is provided with: a horizontally rotatable bar-shaped body 10; and agitation magnets 5a, 5b to be disposed on the bar-shaped body 10 so that the magnetizing direction of each of agitation magnets is made parallel to the axis of rotation of the bar-shaped body 10.
