<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas phase dehydration catalyst used in production of a dehydrated product by a gas phase dehydration reaction, excellent in yield and selectivity, and to provide a method economically advantageous in embodiment in an industrial scale for production of the dehydration product, and to provide a preferable embodiment imparting acrolein in high selectivity by a gas phase dehydration reaction of glycerin. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to the method for producing the dehydration product by gas phase dehydration of a compound having at least three hydroxyl groups, wherein the method characteristically comprises a process contacting a gas phase dehydration catalyst containing at least a kind of group 6 of the periodic table. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
