摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high activity long life electrode for oxygen generation which is used for electrolysis of an aqueous solution containing chlorine ion represented by sea water to generate oxygen while suppressing the generation of chlorine and has an intermediate layer containing platinum group metal oxide and formed on a titanium electrode substrate and a conductive coating film of Mn-Mo-W multiple oxide of an anode active material formed on the surface by an anode electrodeposition method and is capable of high oxygen generation efficiency even in the long period electrolysis at high curent density. SOLUTION: Before the intermediate layer is formed on the titanium electrode substrate, an oxide coating film on the surface is removed by treating with hydrofluoric acid and successively etched with concentrated sulfuric acid to enhance the surface roughness. Because the platinum group metal oxide forming the intermediate layer is entered into projecting and recessed parts produced on the surface of the titanium electrode substrate by the etching to increase the adhesiveness, the peeling of the anode active material from the electrode substrate is prevented to attain long electrode life.
