An apparatus and a method for processing optical information are provided to easily embody a function for simultaneously performing the record and reproduction of data such as a time shift function of a PVR(Personal Video Recorder). A beam splitting module(120) splits a beam generated by a light source(110) into a signal beam, a record reference beam, and a reproduction reference beam. A signal beam processing module(130) loads data information in the split signal beam, and inputs the signal beam to the first position of an optical information recording medium. A record reference beam processing module(140) inputs the split record reference beam to the first position at an incident angle different from the signal beam. A reproduction reference beam processing module(150) inputs the split reproduction reference beam to the second position of the optical information recording medium. An optical information detecting unit(160) detects a reproduction image reproduced in the second position by the reproduction reference beam. The beam splitting module(120) includes the first beam splitter(121) and the second beam splitter(122). The first beam splitter(121) splits the beam generated by the light source(110) into the signal beam and a reference beam. The second beam splitter(122) splits the split reference beam into the record reference beam and the reproduction reference beam.
