<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a work for exchanging a carrying belt. <P>SOLUTION: A side cover 55 is attached to the main body of a color recorder 1 so that it can be freely opened/closed. A carrying belt unit 30 is provided below printing mechanisms P1, P2, P3 and P4. The unit 30 is freely attached to/detached from the main body of the recorder while the side cover is opened. The unit 30 has the carrying belt 31 and a driving roller 32, driven rollers 33, 34 and 35 and a transfer roller 4 (4Y, 4M, 4C and 4K) on which the carrying belt 31 is laid.
