PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head slider material that is strong and capable of reducing the level differences on the air bearing surface, and to provide a magnetic head slider using it and a manufacturing method of the magnetic head slider material.

SOLUTION: The magnetic head slider material is made from a sintered material containing alumina, titanium carbide, and carbon at a rate that the titanium carbide is 20-120 pts.wt. and the carbon is 0.8-1.6 pts.wt. when the weight of alumina is set to 100 pts.wt.
