POROUS ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous article which is a continuous porous article with nearly uniform pore diameters and in which CNF (carbon nanofiber) is mixed.

SOLUTION: This porous body is composed as follows: meso-phase pitch is formed into a continuous porous structure with nearly uniform pore diameters where carbon nanofibers are mixed so that the carbon nanofibers are sealed within the wall thickness of the meso-phase pitch without projecting from the wall surface. For the meso-phase pitch, a product obtained by polymerizing a condensed polycyclic hydrocarbon or a substance containing this in the presence of hydrogen fluoride-boron trifluoride can be used.
