<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the paper position detection precision of a paper position detecting means and to evade the speed of image formation from being drastically decreased in an image forming apparatus, which is provided with an image forming means for forming an image on a conveyed paper sheet and the paper position detecting means for detecting a paper position in the direction orthogonal to a paper conveying direction and in which the paper position detecting means is arranged on the upstream side of an image forming position, where an image is formed on the paper sheet by the image forming means. <P>SOLUTION: The conveying speed of the paper sheet P when detecting the paper position by the paper position detecting means 14 is made slower than that the time other than the paper position detection time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
