PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporator of high heat exchanging performance and low manufacturing costs. SOLUTION: This evaporator is composed of a plurality of tubes arranged in parallel with each other, a first header 3 connecting the tubes at one end, a second header connecting the tubes at the other end, a refrigerant inlet connected with one end side in the tube arrangement direction, of the first header 3, and a refrigerant outlet connected with one end side in the tube arrangement direction, of the second header. The first header 3 is provided with a partitioning wall for partitioning the inside in the tube arrangement direction to define a plurality of sections P. Further the first header 3 is provided with a refrigerant introduction path 11 formed from the refrigerant inlet to the first section positioned at the other end in the tube arrangement direction, of the sections P at a side opposite to a connecting portion with the tubes.
