PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the occupation area for storing door members by elevating a plurality of the door members and horizontally overlapping them in its vertical attitude for storage in the front upper portion of a device frame. SOLUTION: An elevating opening and closing multi-stage door device is equipped with a plurality of door members 5 in which the gate-shaped device frame 2 having an opening portion 2A formed therein is provided with a pair of lateral guide rails 3 and which have engaging members 4 to be engaged with the lateral guide rails 3 and are vertically overlapped in its vertical attitude to close the opening portion 2A, and with an elevating mechanism 6 which elevates the lowermost door member to elevate all the door members. The device frame 2 is provided with a storage part 2B, in the upper front surface, which stores a plurality of the door members horizontally overlapped in its vertical attitude, and with a door overlapping means 7 in which the upper part of the lateral guide rail 3 is extended, in the storage part 2B, in a direction horizontally brought closer and which elevates the door members in a lower position and changes them in the horizontal direction, on the rear side of the door members elevated and changed to the horizontal direction.
