Probe for dental examination - has optic fibre cable and video camera

This probe is designed for dental examinations and replaces the dental mirror. It presents an image of the region on a T.V. monitor screen. This is achieved by means of optic fibre cable and a video camera. Light which is transmitted via an optic cable (13) illuminates the region of interest in the patient'smouth. An image of this region is transmitted via a lens (16), a reflecting mirror (12) and another lens (17) to a video camera (8) to which the probe (1) is attached. Air pumped through a channel (18) passes across the first lens (16) to prevent condensation.
