A mobile terminal having a reading light is provided to enable a user to read a book at a dark place by using a plastic film as a light-permeable member and installing it at a side of an LED(Light-Emitting Diode) part which applies light to an LCD part. A mobile terminal having a reading light comprises a main body(203), an LED part(205), a roller(207), and a light-permeable member(209). The main body(203) comprises an LCD part(201) to output image signals. The LED part(205) applies light to the LCD part(201). The roller(207) is formed inside of the main body(203). The light-permeable member(209), formed at a side of the LED part(205), is wound on the roller(207). The LED part(205) emits light the moment the light-permeable member(209) gets unwound from the roller(207).
