An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to prevent the corrosion of a metal wire even under high temperature and high humidity, by forming a corrosion preventing layer on an insulating layer covering the metal wire so as to effectively prevent moisture from permeating into the metal wire through the insulating layer. A pixel area and a non-pixel area are defined on a substrate. A plurality of gate lines and a plurality of data lines are formed on the substrate throughout the pixel area and the non-pixel area. Pads(112a) are formed in the non-pixel area, wherein the pads are electrically connected to the gate lines or the data lines. An insulating layer is formed in the non-display area, wherein the insulating layer has contact holes for exposing the pads. Pad electrodes(112b) are connected to the pads through the contact holes. A corrosion preventing layer(180) is formed in the non-display area, wherein the corrosion preventing layer has openings(180a) for exposing the pad electrodes. |
