In a process for the adsorptive separation of krypton from a gas mixture which, in addition to krypton, in particular contains nitrogen, the gas mixture flows through an adsorption column which is packed with an adsorbent which adsorbs krypton and nitrogen. The adsorption column, after adsorption of the gas components, is desorbed by means of a gaseous flushing agent which flows through the adsorption column in the same direction as the gas mixture. In order to achieve a high separation efficiency while keeping the process simple, the adsorbent is loaded with nitrogen and krypton, starting from the gas inlet of the adsorption column, the krypton, however, being adsorbed in the adsorbent over only a part length of the total column length. The part length is sized in such a way that during desorption of the adsorption column by means of the flushing agent, first just nitrogen and subsequently krypton can be drawn off separately at the outlet of the adsorption column.
|
