The damper has a case (1) with a cavity (4) comprising a complex including a magnetic field source (2) introduced in a magnetic fluid (3) e.g. pure ferrofluid. The complex is movable within the cavity. An elastic unit (5), a gaseous unit or a rigid wall permits to stabilize the complex in a defined position of the cavity. The deformation of the elastic unit is made by a change of pressure of the gas or liquid in another cavity located between a wall of the case and the elastic unit.
