<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of continuing the execution of a job when a toner end is detected while performing a job of image forming processing of a plurality of sheets only in the case that a predetermined image quality can be secured in the remaining portion of the job. <P>SOLUTION: When it is determined that the remaining amount of a toner in a developing device is a predetermined amount or smaller than that while a job of image forming processing of a plurality of sheets is being performed (Yes in S5), the amount of the toner needed for performing an unprocessed portion of the image forming processing is calculated on the basis of the printing ratio of images to be outputted in the unprocessed portion of the image forming processing (S8), and control is made for deciding whether to continue or discontinue the job (Yes or No in S9) from the result of the comparison of the calculated amount of the required toner and the predetermined amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
