alpha -(beta -Ketocarbonyl)-functional organosilicon compound (I) containing a silicon bound ketone residue (B1), is new. alpha -(beta -Ketocarbonyl)-functional organosilicon compound (I) containing a silicon bound ketone residue (B1) of formulae (-CR 1>2-Y 1>-C(=O)-CHR 3>-C(=O)-CH 2R 3>) and (-CR 1>2-Y 1>-C(=O)-CR 3>=C(-OH)-CH 2R 3>), is new. Y 1>O or an amide residue of formula (-NR 2>-) (preferred); R 1>H (preferred) or 1-30C (cyclo)alkyl-, aryl- or aralkyl; R 2>R 1>or an organic residue (preferably 1-30C (cyclo)alkyl-, aryl- or aralkyl) containing one or more heteroatom of B, N, O, P, S, Si, Ti, F, Cl, Br or I; and R 3>R 1>(preferably H). An independent claim is included for the preparation of (I).
