PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay connection unit which is connected to a plurality of on-vehicle LANs and allows messages to be exchanged between on-vehicle LANs. SOLUTION: The relay connection unit includes; on-vehicle LAN communication means which are connected to the plurality of on-vehicle LANs respectively and transmit and receive messages; a message selection means which selects and receives messages to be relayed, through respective on-vehicle LAN communication means; message storage means which are interposed between the message selection means and respective on-vehicle LAN communication means to temporarily store messages to be relayed which are sent from the message selection means to respective on-vehicle LAN communication means, in the forms of corresponding queues; and a transmission management means which monitors whether each on-vehicle LAN communication means is in a transmittable state or not and outputs messages stored in message storage means to the on-vehicle LAN communication means when the on-vehicle LAN communication means is in the transmittable state.
