PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method enabling high-phosphate rock to be used as a feedstock for metallurgical use without declining in the productivity and quality of sintered ore. SOLUTION: A method for producing ferrocoke for metallurgical use is provided, comprising mixing coal and iron ore together and making a dry distillation of the mixture, wherein part or the whole of the iron ore consists of high-phosphate rock containing 0.08 mass% or greater of phosphorus. In this method, it is preferable that the mixture of coal and iron ore be molded prior to the dry distillation and the mixture contain 3-30 mass% of the high-phosphate rock.
