PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic optimum as a styling agent for damaged hair having persistent styling effects without disordering the finished hairstyle, acting on the damage in the hair, repairing the damage and simultaneously carrying out three actions of styling, style keeping from the interior of the hair and repairing the interior of the hair. SOLUTION: The hair cosmetic is obtained by formulating (1) 0.001-10.0 mass% of one or two or more kinds selected from arginine, glutamic acid and a glutamate with (2) 0.01-20.0 mass% of one or two or more kinds selected from sucrose, lactose, maltose and reducing maltose (maltitol).
