The part has a carrier layer (3a) and an outer layer (1a), where the outer layer has a fabric that is visible from outside. The fabric has a reflecting or retro-reflecting thread or sewing cotton. The thread or sewing cotton has reflecting filaments that are spun with each other, where the filaments and the carrier layer are made of plastic e.g. polypropylene. The filaments are tapes that have a glass body e.g. glass body or prism, in their outer surface. An intermediate layer (2a) is arranged between the carrier layer and the outer layer. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method of manufacturing a lining part (2) a method of manufacturing a retro-reflective thread or sewing cotton.
