PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rotation of an angle of 90 degrees or more without having a projection such as a pin in a valve element operation member and a cutout in a bearing part of the valve element operation member of a valve casing of becoming the cause of finger nipping by rotary operation of a ball valve in opening and closing in rotation of a valve element of the ball valve. SOLUTION: This ball valve checks rotation more than that by contacting a cutout part 7 arranged on the reverse side of a groove for transmitting the rotation by the valve element operation member 3 when rotating the ball valve valve element 2 being a spherical body, with a pedestal 8 arranged inside the valve casing 1.
