PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner by which a standard mode switch and a night mode switch can be easily selected even in the nighttime when it is dark around. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner comprises: a cleaner body 3 with a built-in motor-driven blower 2; a flexible hose 4 whose one end is connected to the cleaner body 3; an extension pipe 6 connected to the other end of the flexible hose 4 and having a handle part 6; a floor suction tool 7 connected to the extension pipe 6; and a control means 17 for controlling the motor-driven blower 2. The control means 17 is provided with the standard mode switch 14 to be operated in the daytime and the night mode switch 16 to be operated in the nighttime, and the standard mode switch 14 and the night mode switch 16 are arranged at different positions, respectively.
