PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce sway and vibration due to rotation of a workpiece when performing twisting work while rotating a pipe for a heat exchanger being gripped by a chuck. SOLUTION: A manufacturing apparatus for a pipe for a heat exchanger is equipped with a chuck 5 on a movable side for holding the end portion 4a of the pipe 4 for a heat exchanger, and a chuck 7 on a rotary side for holding the end portion 4b of the pipe 4, wherein the twisting work of the pipe 4 is performed by twisting the end portion 4b of the pipe 4 around the axial line of the pipe 4 by rotation of the chuck 7 on the rotary side. In the twisting work of the pipe 4, the apparatus is provided with a work gripping arm 2 for bearing the outer diameter part of the pipe 4 in the middle portion between the ends portions 4a, 4b of the pipe 4 in a gripped state, and for controlling positional variation in the radial direction.
