PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding apparatus which takes the environment into consideration. SOLUTION: Almost transparent thermoplastic elastomer is used as a material of sheets 12, 14, 16 for protecting operating portions 8, 9 of an instrument or a welding wire 3 from dust, and spatters and fumes generated by welding. Because the thermoplastic elastomer does not produce dioxin even in incomplete combustion, the sheets 12, 14, 16 do not produce dioxin even if the incomplete combustion has been caused in scrapping and incinerating the sheets 12, 14, 16.
