PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actuate a headrest to rise and/or incline forward at a high speed before the head part is hit to the headrest to avoid cervical damage or whiplash. SOLUTION: This active headrest is composed of means provided on a frame of a backrest A1. Each means is linked to a link mechanism pivotally supported on the frame to be movable forward and backward of the frame, a drive means provided on the link mechanism, and a headrest device, so that the headrest is actuated to rise and incline.
