PURPOSE:To improve motor efficiency by fitting a stator movable element with damping pieces composed of elastic members. CONSTITUTION:In a stator S of a rotating ultrasonic motor, a movable element of said stator S is fitted with damping pieces 11 to 15 composed of elastic members of, for example, silicone resin at a place where an oscillatory wave amplitude in a non-contact surface is not minimal. It is desirable that the length of a traveling wave of said damping pieces 11 to 15 is lambda/2 and less to the forward direction. Thus, even if oscilatory waves Q1 to Q5 with varying amplitudeS are generated in traveling waves excited in the stator S, vibration at a place, where oscillatory waves Q1, Q2, Q5 with amplitudes more than a given level are generated, is absorbed and suppressed by vibration absorption of damping members 11 to 13, because said members 11 to 13 are fitted to said place. As a result, a variation of amplitudes of all oscillatory waves becomes very small. |
