<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for facilitating point-to-point communications of voice and video. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a means for transmitting from a first process to a server a query as to whether a second process, specified by a persistent identifier, is connected to a computer network, a means for receiving a network protocol address of the second process from the server when the second process is connected to the computer network, and a means, in response to the network protocol address of the second process, for establishing a point-to-point communication link between the first process and the second process over the computer network. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
