Actuator for an optical head

The actuator (1) has a focus lens (4) fixed in a lens holder (3), where the lens has a damper base (5) that is connected with a mounting plate (6). A coil- and magnet arrangement (7) is provided for fine positioning of the lens. The holder is connected with the base via elastically flexible suspension wires (11) that are arranged on both sides of the arrangement and on a longitudinal axis (L) of the actuator. The holder is arranged on a side of the actuator at a distance from the longitudinal axis where the actuator side is turned away from the axis and faces a receiver for an optical disk (2). An independent claim is also included for a device for reading and/or writing optical storage media.
