PURPOSE:To prevent entrance of germs into the eardrum from the outside even during bathing, hair-washing, swimming or the like by forming a ventilation plug made of water repellent synthetic resin in a shape by which the ventilation plug may be easily attached to the drum membrane, so as to make the air pressure inside and outside of the year drum equal to each other. CONSTITUTION:After anesthetizing the drum membrane, a ventilation plug is inserted with the use of a forceps into a cut opening having a length of about 1 to 1.5mm and formed in the drum membrane 1 under the observation with the use of a surgical microscope. The water repellent synthetic resin material plug inserted in the drum membrane is firmly secured in a lateral groove part 4 several hours later after the insertion. In this condition, a liquid or germs can not enter into the eardrum from the outside. Further, since gas can smoothly flows, the ventilation of the inside of the eardrum can be made smoothly so as to allow the effect of medical treatment to be remarkable enhanced and to make the medical treatment safe. Further the insertion of the plug allows the pressures of the auditory meatus and the eardrum to make equal to each other, and facilitates the discharge of reserved liquid in the eardrum. |
