PURPOSE:To enhance energy efficiency and to simultaneously improve various characteristics such as ink droplet discharging speed, amount and response by forming a step in the vicinity of the inlet of a nozzle with respect to the other part of a nozzle forming board, and forming a land. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric element 24 is, when a voltage is applied between a common electrode 26 and a signal electrode 25, a contracted in a direction perpendicular to an electric field. On the other hand, an Ni thin layer of the electrode 26 having high elasticity is restricted in its dimensional change and deformed and displaced to the side of the electrode 25. Accordingly, a voltage is applied at the time of waiting, and the voltage is selectively disconnected. Thus, the free end of a vibrator 21 is deformed and displaced in a direction of a nozzle forming board 30, and ink near it is discharged from a nozzle 31. In this case, a gap (a) between the vibrator 21 and the nozzle 31 is formed in size preferable for ink droplet discharging characteristic, and a gap (b) be tween the vibrator 21 and the part except a land 32 near the nozzle inlet open ing is made wider than the gap (a) thereby to vibrate the vibrator in an attenuat ing vibration range and to smoothly supply the ink. |
