PURPOSE:To eliminate obstruction to shifting of block mold during operation and to prevent unstability of the block mold to vertical direction by arranging as facing roller slides, which both end parts to width direction of a carrier body are held from vertical direction as shiftable, at position of mold space in fixed frames. CONSTITUTION:On upper and lower faces of recessed grooves 12 at the position of the mold space 8 in the fixed frames 5, that is, at straight part of the upper and lower block molds 7 after passing through the part of driving rolls 3, respectively and are mutually faced till coming to the part of the idle rolls 4, the roller slides 13 holding both end parts to the width direction of the carrier body 9 as shiftable to line direction are arranged as facing at plural number. When the continuous casting machine is operated and the block molds 7 comes to the mold space 8, both end parts of the carrier body 9 are held from the vertical direction with the roller slides 13 arranged in the recessed grooves 12 of the fixed frames 5. Then, as the block molds 7 are held up with unstable gap and are not inclined, the block molds 7 are not brought into contact with a tundish nozzle and step difference between the adjoining block molds is not developed and finishing accuracy of the cast slab is improved. |
