PURPOSE:To improve environmental stability of a toner together with the powder flowability thereof by treating the surface of fine inorg. powder by a compd. having an ammonium group contg. a specific anion as a paired ion and a functional group which can be combined to inorg. materials. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the fine inorg. powder of the toner particles contg. the fine inorg. powder on the surface or in the inside is treated by the compd. having the ammonium group contg. the anion expressed by formula I as the paired ion and the functional group which can be combined with the inorg. materials. In the formula, R denotes a hydrogen atom, halogenated alkyl group, etc.; n denotes 1 or larger integer. The influence of the ammonium cation part is small and the basically good negative chargeability is obtd. when particularly the inorg. material, such as silica, having the strong negative chargeability is treated by this ammonium compd. The use of the compsn. as the negative chargeable which is improved in the environmental stability of the electrostatic charge together with the powder flowability is possible in this way. |
