A system and a method for performing payment with a card recognizer are provided to enable a user to conveniently make the payment with various tools such as a smart card inserted into a mobile terminal, a credit card, a membership card, a gift certificate, and a transport card by using a compatible dongle capable of recognizing the smart card and the various types of cards. An interface(210) receives payment information and card information by communicating with the card. An application part(220) is mounted with an application for operating the card recognizer and making the payment. A controller(230) confirms the card type and a card protocol by using the card information, and processes security and the payment according to the confirmed card type and protocol. An I/O(Input/Output) part(240) outputs an advancing and processing result of the payment or receives payment data generated in the card recognizer. The controller includes a SAM(Security Access Module) interfacing module(234) performing an authentication procedure for the card and the payment, an encrypting module(240), and a control unit(232). |
