<p>An indium metal recovering method which simplifies a complicated recovery process of multiple steps for recovering indium metal from ITO(indium tin oxide) scraps using strong acid, and can select an optimal string acid for dissolving the ITO scraps based on analysis results by an inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy are provided. As a method for recovering high purity indium metal by extracting indium from an indium tin oxide(ITO) scrap that is a transparent conductive material used in a display panel, a method for recovering indium metal comprises the steps of: (a) mixing crushed ITO scrap powder with metal hydroxide; (b) heat-treating a mixture of the step(a) at a metal hydroxide melting point of 300 to 700 deg.C for 5 to 20 hours; (c) cleaning and drying a product produced in the step(b); (d) dissolving a product produced in the step(c) into a strong acid; and (e) subjecting a solution prepared in the step(d) to cementation using an Al plate to form a resulting material in a sponge shape, wherein the mixing step(a) is performed by adding 10 to 30%, by weight percent, of the metal hydroxide to the ITO scrap powder, and mixing the metal hydroxide with the ITO scrap powder.</p> |
