A button assembly and a method of manufacturing the same are provided to engage a tack into an inner portion of a fabric for preventing an end portion of the button assembly from being seen from the outside. The button assembly includes a retainer(4b) holding an end portion of a tack when the button assembly is attached on a fabric, a button body(4) having a cylindrical hub(4a) and a flange, a disk member(3) enclosing the flange of the button body and having a circular cap(3a) equipped with a hole(3b) formed on a center portion thereof, and an inserting member(30) which is inserted between the button body and the disk member. The inserting member has a hub(32) having a closed bottom(31) of an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the hub of the button body.
