A portable terminal is provided to allow a user to conveniently separate a battery cover from a body of the portable terminal by enabling a push part provided in a locking member to push the battery cover in an open direction while downwardly rotating when a locking device of a battery is operated in a direction of releasing the locking of the battery. A portable terminal includes a body, a battery mounted on a battery mounting part formed in the body, a battery cover to protect the battery, a locking device mounted on the body to lock the battery cover, a hook part(310) and a locking part(410). The hook part(310) is formed in the battery cover. The locking part(410) is rotatably mounted on one side of the battery mounting part formed in the body to lock the hook part(310) or release the locking while rotating if it is pressed. The locking part(410) includes a push button, a hinge part, and a locking protrusion. The push button is exposed to the outside of the body. The hinge part is formed on one end portion of the push button and rotatably supported by one side of the body. The locking protrusion is formed at the other end portion of the push button to be caught by the hook part.
