The invention relates to the ferrous metallurgy. The hydrogen-resistant steel contains components at the following ratio, wt. %: carbon -0.04-0.07, silicon - 0.3-0.8, manganese - 5.0-8.0, chrome - 25.0-27.5, nickel - 15.0-17.0, vanadium - 0.20-0.40, nitrogen - 0.30-0.45, hafnium - 0.015-0.020, sulfur - 0.005-0.007, phosphorus - 0.005-0.015, iron -the rest, at that the total content of nickel and manganese is equal to not less than 22 wt. %. The use of the invention will allow increasing operating reliability and lifetime of the chemical, oil and gas and power equipment made from the claimed steel.
