PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an image sensor capable of providing a life equivalent to that when it is mounted on a conventional image scanner, using the same sensor array as that when mounted on the conventional image scanner, even if mounted on a printer multifunction machine. SOLUTION: In the image sensor, turning on/off of a lamp is controlled based on control signals. It comprises a light source (2) for illuminating an original, a sensor (4) for photoelectric conversion of the light reflected from the original, and a power feeding circuit (5) that supplies power to the sensor based on the control signal.
