PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper which can easily make the length of leakproof cuffs high. SOLUTION: The disposable diaper 1 has a pair of leakproof cuffs 20 at the inner surface of the crotch region 8, and the leakproof cuffs face each other with a centerline C-C between them which divides the width of the crotch region 8 in two. Each leakproof cuff 20 consists of a first sheet piece 21 and a second sheet piece 22. Each of first and second pieces 21, 22 has bottom edges 28, 38 fixed to the inner surface of the diaper 1 and top edges 29, 39 which are not fixed to the inner surface of the crotch region 8, and the bottom edge 28 of the first sheet piece 21 is apart from the bottom edge 38 of the second sheet piece 22 and positioned beside the centerline C-C. The first and second sheet pieces 21, 22 are joined at the one part on which they overlap each other in the tilt to the inner surface of the diaper. One top edge part of the first and second pieces 21, 22 is positioned closer to the center line C-C than the other top edge part, and an elastic member 42 parallel to the center line C-C is mounted in the elongation.
