A shooting system especially for handgun training without live ammunition has each weapon fitted with a projection laser to direct a laser beam (3) onto a detector. Each weapon has additional data superimposed on the beam, namely weapon identification and user identification. The user details can be displayed on a remote control linked to the detector by wireless/laser link.
