PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the whole device in the axial and the radial direction by abolishing an intermediate gear to be conventionally used. SOLUTION: The drive mechanism of the pretensioner comprises a piston 116 which is disposed in a cylinder and moves in a sudden deceleration of a vehicle, and a pinion 102 which is directly connected with the sleeve through a clutch which is connected with the take-up shaft only in the sudden deceleration of the vehicle. The pinion is constituted as a component comprising a tooth part 104 where the pinion teeth 104A meshed with only the rack teeth, and a clutch part 106 which is coaxially and integrally formed with the tooth part, and equipped with a clutch at the inner peripheral side. The piston comprises a piston part 118 which receives gas pressure, and a rack part 120 which is vertically provided at the position offset from the center of the piston part.
