PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tread of tire capable of largely reducing the rolling resistance of tire without reducing steering stability and braking property on a dry road surface and wet road surface. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tread is constituted by blending 10-200 pts.mass of silica (B); 1-30 pts.mass of a sulfur-containing silane compound (C) having a specified structure; 2-70 pts.mass of an aromatic vinyl compound-conjugated diene compound copolymer (D) of which the amount of the aromatic vinyl compound is 5-80 mass%, the vinyl bonding amount of the conjugated diene compound portion is 10-80 mass% and weight-average molecular weight in terms of polystyrene measured by gel permeation chromatography is 5,000-500,000; with 100 pts.mass of a rubber component (A).
