<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device comprising a motion compensated frame rate conversion (FRC) and capable of always fetching a still image with no image quality deterioration caused by FRC processing, and displaying it on screen or recording it, regardless of timing of an instruction operation by a user. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device comprises an FRC 10, a still image fetching portion 17, and a changer/synthesizer 18. The FRC 10 interpolates an image signal applied with movement correction processing between frames of input image signals to convert the number of frames of the input image signals. The still image fetching portion 17 fetches a still image frame from an animation frame, in response to an instruction by a user. The changer/synthesizer 18 changes or synthesizes the still image frame fetched by the still image fetching portion 17, in relation to the animation frame. The still image fetching portion 17 is forbidden to fetch an interpolation frame formed by the FRC 10 as the still image frame. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
