PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasket for sealing two confronting surfaces in between, capable of maintaining a stable sealing performance in various conditions in statistic or dynamic terms. SOLUTION: The gasket 1 has a lower part 17 able to be compressed reversibly and an upper part 14 furnished with at least one upward extended portion. The upper part 14 of the gasket 1 includes a first upward extended portion 34 and a second upward extended portion 37. The first upward extended portion and the second upward extended portion of the upper part are equipped below with vertical center lines 49 and 58 lying over the outer surface longitudinally directed grooves 73 and 76 in the lower part.
