A radial tire for a motorcycle capable of holding high grip performance and durability performance during running at high speeds on a dry road surface and during cornering at high speeds and, particularly, sustaining these performances until a race is completed in a large displacement road racing vehicle. The tilt angle of a cross belt (13) relative to the circumferential direction of a cord (13a) is set to 60° or more. A belt protective layer (15) is disposed on the outside of a spiral belt (14) while the cord is tilted by 70° or more relative to the circumferential direction.
