PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing device for a vehicle wheel enhanced in assembling easiness and capable of enhancing the sealing performance of a seal. SOLUTION: The bearing device for the vehicle wheel composed of double-row tapered roller bearings of back face butted types includes an outside joint member 14 which is integrally provided with a shoulder 20 provided or the peripheral surface with an inner raceway surface 14a and a cylindrical shaft 21 stretching from the shoulder 20 in the axial direction, in which a hub ring 11 and an outside joint member 14 are put by plastic bonding rigidly by expanding the shaft 21 diametrically to cause it to bite into a surface unevenness part 15 formed on the inside surface of the hub ring 11 together with a hardening process, and also tapered rollers 3 are held by a retainer 7 so as not to slip off toward the inside surface, and large flanges 2b to guide the rollers 3 are formed rigidly on major diametric sides of the outer raceway surfaces 2a of an exterior member 2. Accordingly the rollers 3 does not slip off from the retainer 7, and there is no risk that the retainer 7 moves to cause interference with the seal 22 in a state that an assembly is fitted to the exterior member 2.
